PCCR CELEBRATION OF BUWAN NG WIKA

Last August 28, 2009, PCCR in cooperation with the Filipino Club and the High School Department, celebrated Buwan ng Wika with the theme “Wikang Filipino: Mula Baler Hanggang Buong Pilipinas” at the JFAB Sports Center.

The students, faculty and administration officials were entertained with various presentations that started at 1PM hosted by Ms. Erebeck Daub and Ms. Jonalyn Bartolome.

The Filipino Club adviser and Acting Chief Librarian, Prof. Marcela M. Mallilin welcomed the students by giving an inspiring opening remarks. Students in High School and College competed in various contests such as Bigkasan ng Tula, Poster Making, and Essay Writing. Various numbers in commemoration of the Filipino language were also presented: the first year high school students danced the Carinosa, the second years oral Sabayang Bigkas and the solo singing performances by the college students.

Essay Writing

1st Place – Sharina Jane Tantoco (I-B1)
2nd Place – Ruby Anne Legarda (I-A3)
3rd Place – Kelvin John S. Vegerano (IV-B6)

High School Principal and Technical Assistant for Planning, Personnel Management Prof. Mario S. Villalobos closed the celebration with an inspiring message about loving our native language.
